    Although, I now used the git way and have compilation errors. I will investigate and maybe open a new thread here.

    From what you pasted, it seems you missed step 5 there:
    cd src/sbbs3

    Although, I now used the git way and have compilation errors. I will investigate and maybe open a new thread here.
