High pressure from Finland southward to the Mediterranean Sea keep
eastern Europe mostly dry and sunny.
Monday
Showers in northern parts of Spain and Portugal on Monday. Much of
southern Iberia mostly sunny, only some cloud around. but fair for the
rest of Portugal and Spain. Scattered showers in the Balearics, risk of
heavy showers in the far north islands and Corsica. Dry in Sardinia but
increasingly cloudy. Thunderstorms arrive in northwest Italy, spreading
east across most of northern Italy through the day. Central and
southern areas dry with sunshine, cloud tending to build from the west
later. Dry and sunny for the Balkan States, as well as Greece and
Türkiye.
Frequent, widespread afternoon showers across France, some drift into
the Low Countries; a notable west-southwesterly breeze here. From dawn,
a band of heavy/thundery rain is oriented north-to-south through west
Germany into southeast France. The rain tends to break as it moves into
central Germany, but Switzerland and west Austria will be increasingly
wet with thunderstorms. Quite warm in east Germany through south Poland
and Ukraine towards the Black Sea. Sunny spells with scattered
afternoon showers in Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania, drier south.
Denmark sees outbreaks of heavy rain throughout the day, these pushing
into much of southern Norway too. Mostly dry in Sweden but quite
cloudy, some rain reaching southwestern areas late in the day. The
Baltic States and Finland will also be dry with sunny spells,
increasingly sunny as the day goes. Far northern Scandinavia similarly
dry with decent sun.
Tuesday
Morning showery rain in northwest Spain and Portugal. Some cloud around
early, trending towards a sunny afternoon. A mix of cloud and sun for
the central Mediterranean Islands but substantially dry. Frequent
showers across much of Italy with local thunderstorms, most likely in
the northeast. Increasingly cloudy for the northern Balkans with some
showers onto Croatia's coast later in the day, remaining fine for the
southern Balkans, Greece, and Türkiye.
Notable southwesterly winds in west France where heavy rain sets in
early and spreads east - only the far south will avoid rain. This rain
reaches Belgium late in the day, only odd spots into the Netherlands.
Scattered showers in Germany with sunny spells, rain more persistent in
the northeast. Extensively showery across the Alps with risk of
thunderstorms in Austria. A risk of thunderstorms extends into Czechia
and south Poland as well. Sunny in east Poland and very warm. Extensive
sunshine further east as well towards the Black Sea.
Heavy showers in Denmark and southern Norway. Wet too in southern
Sweden, increasingly widespread up the western coastal area with heavy
spells. Dry with sunny spells for the Baltic States, through heavy
showers may drift into Lithuania and Latvia later in the day. Dry and
good sun in Estonia through Finland.
